2015 is off to a fabulous start! My first photo shoot of the year is complete, and I couldn't have asked for a better subject. I had the honor of photographing SW Creative's 10th Anniversary party! The celebration was held here in Silver Spring at the famed AFI, and featured hors d'oeuvres and a short film highlighting all of the great work SW Creatives has accomplished.
The design firm is owned and operated by Shala Graham and it caters to non-profits. In the last 10 years, SW Creatives has served more than 90 non-profits and completed almost $100,000 in pro bono work. Shala believes in giving back to the community, and that's what I love so much about her!

In addition to celebrating with Shala, a lot of exciting things have happened in my personal life that have made this one memorable week. I started this year with a blog post about my goals for 2015, and it seems some of them are already coming true!
Cliff and I were late to celebrate Christmas, but I've learned good things come to those who are patient. He surprised me with a long weekend trip to Maine this summer! We'll be staying at the Towne Motel in Camden, which is owned by a few of our former college professors. And, they have resident kitties! How cool is that?!
Things only get better -- in addition to visiting Maine, next weekend we're taking another getaway to Elkton, Maryland to celebrate my 30th (ahh!) birthday! We're going to stay at the Elk Forge B&B and completely spoil ourselves with a couples massage and dinner on the town!
Take more weekend getaways: done and done!

Finally, I'm so excited to share news from a few friends: Bethany and Jarrod are engaged! They spilled the beans over dinner by asking me if I do indoor photography (the answer is YES!) Of course I had to photograph Bethany's ring! But this isn't just any ring. It belonged to Jarrod's paternal grandmother. Isn't it beautiful? Congratulations, you two!
