Between running a business, holding down a full-time job and owning a home, there isn’t time for me to go back to school, though I would love to take a few business classes. In the mean time, I’ve opted for personalized, one-on-one mentoring. This blog post is dedicated to those wonderful people who are helping me navigate this incredible journey called jhPhotography. Meet my mentors!
Gerry is an experienced photographer and graphic designer who now helps other photographers navigate the complex world of post-production. He meets me at my level and helps me build upon my existing knowledge of Adobe products so I can get the most out of the software, from editing to workflow.
Shala is the bee’s knees! As soon as I decided to launch a business, I knew I would need a small business mentor—and I knew that I wanted my mentor to be Shala. She is so accomplished and an incredibly inspirational person. I asked Pete Tan from Silver Spring Inc. to introduce us and the rest, as they say, is history. We meet regularly to talk about all things business: how it's going, what I can do to improve web traffic, formulas for the best ROIs, pricing, and marketing. Oh, and sometimes we talk about love, life, and chocolate, too :)
I’m so excited to be able to finally call Katie my mentor. She’s a wedding photographer that I’ve followed and admired for some time now who lives in Newport News, Virginia. It’s tough for me to make the three-hour trek to see her, so she was kind enough to talk with me via skype. We had our first session last week and it was fabulous! I'm so grateful there are experienced photographers out there who are willing to share their knowledge with others!
