Unfortunately, we had to cancel our regularly scheduled plans due to an illness. We improvised by having Thanksgiving at home. It was just the two of us… and Louie, of course!
At the center of it all is my dad. I've always been daddy's little girl, and he's always been my hero. But after seeing all the ways he bravely faced an emergency amputation, the word "hero" takes on a whole, new meaning. My dad has humbled me with his patience, resilience, and determination to make the best out of any and every situation, and I cannot wait to see him again over the Christmas holiday!
This year, we are also so thankful (and I am so incredibly proud) that Cliff accepted a position of associate professor at Prince George’s Community College. For Cliff, this is like a dream come true. For the last three years, he’s served the students of PGCC as a member of the adjunct faculty and adviser of the campus paper. Landing a tenure-track position is like icing on the cake! Or maybe it’s the whipped cream on the pumpkin pie :D
Then there’s our condo. It’s still hard to believe that we’re homeowners, but we fall in love with our place a little more each day. Perhaps Cliff getting sick was the universe’s way of reminding us just how sweet home can be.
