You see, Leslie is putting the finishing touches on a website for her new travel business which caters to group and educational tours in the Carribean and Central America. She needed her headshots to reflect a setting that is lush and vibrant and green -- and she needed them in the dead of winter.
It's hard to find something like that in a city in the mid-Atlantic that primarily features GrecoRoman and Brutalist architecture... But there is one place in our Nation's Capital that is green all year round: The National Botanical Gardens!
Leslie, her adorable daughter and I met there in February and the results are beautiful! When it comes to portrait photography, the gardens are actually less than idea. The aisle space is tight and juggling poses between groups of tourists can be tricky, but Leslie did an excellent job maneuvering through so many distractions. My favorite part was learning more about Leslie's travel company, CrioYa Global Movement.
Leslie is a teacher, but also loves traveling. Her company meshes those two passions by offering educational trips for teachers and their guests. Leslie and her clients travel and work together to learn about the world and create unique learning experiences for students. It's a wonderful idea and I'm so glad I could be part of it, even if this tiny way!
