At this point, he's able to wear his leg for five full hours without taking a break. He can drive, walk up and down stairs, and move on uneven surfaces. Balance is still a bit of an issue, but I believe it's something that will come with time.
From here on out, Dad will continue to attend physical therapy to build strength and tone the muscles in his leg. His goal is to be able to wear his prosthetic for a full day--between 8 and 12 hours--without having to take a break. It's amazing how far he's come in 6 months, and I can't wait to see what the next 6 to 12 months have in store for him!
