One of the most important aspects of custom engagement or family photography is choosing the right location. For dear friends Karen and Moe, that choice was a no-brainer from the get-go. Glen Echo, Washington D.C.'s beloved abandoned amusement park turned arts center, is a home away from home for these two, who both have extraordinary musical talent.
Moe is a bass, ukulele, and harmonica player who often performs with local swing, rock-a-billy and jazz bands like The Grandsons and the Hula Monsters. Karen is an avid ballroom dancer who specializes in swing and waltzes. Glen Echo has always been one of their favorite hangouts, and it is an important part of their beautiful relationship.
As we strolled around Glen Echo on a warm, summertime evening, they told stories about dances and performances at the Spanish Ballroom and Bumper Car Pavilion, and even sang for part of their engagement session. Working with them was such a joy -- and watching the way Moe looks at Karen. Well, you'll see. It is everything. :)
