When I started taking photos, it was just something fun, just something I liked to do. I never dreamed that I'd be launching a website or trying to grow a freelance career, but here I am. I wouldn’t be at this point in my life without help, support, and love from many people along the way—people who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I’d like to dedicate this first blog post to those special friends who gave me the encouragement and confidence I needed to follow my dreams.
Kristy: Kristy and I have been friends for years. You could say we grew up together. We met at our first jobs as hostess and waitress at a tiny mom ‘n pop diner in our hometown of Lincoln, Ne. The Pantry is no longer around, but our friendship has flourished over the years. Kristy is a writer, photographer and graphic designer, and she helped me build this website. You can check out her work and read more about her life with dogs Blizzy and Gimli here.
Jimena: Jimena can only be described as one of the coolest cats I know. As an artist, designer, musician, chef and web developer, she is truly a jack of all trades, someone who is always trying something new. For Jimena, the sky is the limit. She is a lover of robots, music, knitting, cats and sushi, and she helped me secure my first professional shoot. Follow her on Twitter and I promise you wont be disappointed.
Cliff: Last, but certainly not least, is my partner and very best friend, Cliff. He and I met in college and never looked back. I couldn’t ask for a better person to spend my life with. Cliff is a small-town guy who left the familiarity of the family farm to blaze his own trails as a professor of English, soccer enthusiast/scholar and founder of B-Boyin’ Round the World. He makes me laugh, he makes me think, but most of all, he makes me want to be a better person :)
The future is bright. There's bound to be some bumps along the way, but I look forward to the challenges. I hope you will join me on this journey as I learn and grow as a photographer, small business owner and individual. It’s gonna be great!
